Eurocopter and Indian operator Global Vectra sign contract for three EC155 helicopters
Eurocopter and Global VECTRA Helicop, largest India-based helicopter operator for offshore missions today signed a contract for three Eurocopter EC155 aircraft. VECTRA, who had acquired its first two EC155 in 2005, will extend its missions all over India. According to Lt. General (Retd.) SJS Saighal, CEO of Global VECTRA, the EC155 as the latest member of Eurocopter’s renowned Dauphin series, offers "the optimal performance, comfort and safety characteristics for our specific mission scenarios".
Norbert Ducrot, Senior Vice President Asia-Pacific at Eurocopter, who signed the contract on behalf of Eurocopter, pointed out that India is a strategic market for the leader in helicopters, with a considerable fleet of Dauphin helicopters currently being operated throughout the country and the country having high growth potential over the next few years, as the Offshore Corporate and VIP market segments are evolving.
