The significantly improvement in the "DAUPHIN" AS 365N3 performance is mainly due to the adoption of the latest TURBOMECA Arriel 2C turbine engine.
This increase in power can be used in warm weather or at high altitude to increase the helicopter's Take-Off weight significantly.
The Arriel 2C is 18% more powerful than the Arriel 1C2 which fits the N2 version.
This engine is equipped with an Full Authority Digital Electronic Control (FADEC).
