Eurocopter Canada Limited (ECL) operating in Canada since 1984 is a subsidiary of Eurocopter, the world’s largest designer and manufacturer of civil and military helicopter ranges in the world. Eurocopter, in turn, is a division of EADS, a world leader in aerospace, defence and related services.
As one of the world’s largest helicopter manufacturers, Eurocopter proudly offers a more extensive product range than any of its competitors, supplying one third of the world’s helicopter fleet. There are 11,200 Eurocopter helicopters currently in service, meeting the needs of almost 2,900 customers in 147 countries.
ECL provides a broad range of services including; aircraft sales, manufacturing, engineering, repair and overhaul and 24/7 nation-wide customer support from a dedicated technical help desk and via field representatives, who offer proximity support. The head office and manufacturing facility is in Fort Erie, Ontario; Customer Support Centers are located in Richmond, British Columbia and in Montreal, Quebec. Today, ECL supports 166 customers who collectively operate more than 600 aircraft in Canada.
ECL offers a wide range of multi-purpose helicopters; from the light single-engine EC120, EC130 B4, and AS350 B2/B3 to the twin-engine AS355, EC155, EC225, AS365 and the new generation twin-engine EC135 P2e/T2e, EC145, EC145 T2 and EC175. Eurocopter Canada is part of Eurocopter’s network of 30 subsidiaries around the world. Eurocopter Canada develops options and manufactures composite components for the global Eurocopter fleet some of which include; the EC130 cowlings and fairings, EC135 stabilizers, end plates, hub caps and boarding steps, EC145 cowling sets and boarding steps.
The ECL engineering department is a Design Approval Organization (DAO) certified for the development and flight testing of aircraft options and modifications. At ECL’s Transport Canada (TC) certified training centre, we offer factory approved maintenance (airframe & engine) and pilot training. ECL provides complete technical publications for a large customer base. ECL is a registered AS 9100 facility and meets the requirements for Transport Canada’s CAR 571, European EASA 145 and FAA FAR 145 maintenance organizations. Other areas of expertise include aircraft completions, repair and overhaul of airframes, blades, hydraulics and dynamic components. Eurocopter Canada helps customers extend the service life of their helicopters and was recently appointed as the AS350 repair hub for the America’s. Additionally as part of the global supply chain to Eurocopter, ECL manufactures composite airframe components for the Eurocopter group production lines and options.
